I based my career on “Firsts”. The first in my family to:
→ Go to college.
→ Move to a new country.
→ Pursue a corporate career.
→ Became a VP at the age of 29
I have taken great pride in my “self-made” title… but it also meant that I had to do it solo, without a family to guide and support me.Â
I fell into the trap that a lot of overachievers find themselves in.
→ Overworked and underpaid.
→ Afraid to use their voice.
→ Lack of boundaries. Â
What struck me is that when you're the “First”... you tend to miss the warning signs.
The outdated approach of hustling to prove our worth and growth at any cost is out.
Designing an intentional life and listening to our intuition is in.
